Background
Kamel Hothi, one of the first Asian Bank managers in the UK overcame cultural and gender stereotypes to achieve highly in her field which ulimtately lead her to the position of Head of Special Projects at Lloyds Bank. This all starting at the age of 16 where she was fortunate enough to became a cashier at her local bank in Slough coming out on top of 300 applications.
To date, Kamel has been recognised with various awards for her support towards the Asain community, including being one of the top 10 diversity champions in the UK by Gordon Brown, Asian Achievers Woman of the Year Award and an Honorary Doctorate from the World Sikh University.
